
Online Respectful Maternity and neonatal training

Green Tara Nepal has launched an innovative electronic Learning Management System (LMS) to support healthcare providers in rural health posts. The platform is designed to enhance understanding and practice of Respectful Maternal and Neonatal Care (RMNC).
The LMS is accessible online at learn.greentara.org.np, with registration available for new users.
Features and Structure
- Total of 10 sessions, each featuring unique stories, factual content, and instructional videos.
- All content is currently available in Nepali language.
- Interactive platform suitable for self-paced learning and review.
As of May 7, 2025, 83 healthcare providers have successfully completed the training. Evaluation showed significant improvement:
- Average Pre-Test Score: 78
- Average Post-Test Score: 93

Implementation and Expansion
The online orientation was conducted by Abhishek Silwal, IT Assistant at Green Tara Nepal, specifically targeting health workers in Nawalparasi district.
The system was first launched on November 15, 2024.

National level intergration
This LMS-based training is now being adopted by the Nepal Government as an optional component in the new modular training system. The handover process is underway to the National Health Training Center (NHTC).
